WebChrono's formatting/parsing takes inspiration from C, which is very difficult to read (and write imo). Just to touch on this, being similar to C means its also similar to C#, Java, Python, PHP, etc. Which makes it feel more familar. Granted, that doesn't make it better, but feeling familiar can help "onboard" someone onto an API more quickly.
